Beautiful Super Sharp Posterior Megalodon Shark Tooth
Original price was: $140.00.$126.00Current price is: $126.00.
This is a beautiful collector quality Megalodon tooth that I found diving recently in 40 feet of water near Savannah GA. It measures 3-1/2″ long and 3-1/4″ wide which is huge for a posterior Megalodon tooth. It is in the top 10% of all that I find. The enamel and bourrelet are in great condition. The root is a little chipped on the very top of the tooth but it is mostly intact. The serrations are super sharp and just about every one is in place including the tip. It is a stunning tooth that will add to any collection. Includes display stand and certificate of authenticity.
The Megalodon was the largest and most powerful predator ever to have lived in the ocean. This prehistoric shark could have grown to about 60 feet (18 meters) in length and had a bite force that far exceeded that of any known animal, including the Tyrannosaurus rex. The Megalodon’s diet likely consisted of whales, dolphins, seals, and other large marine mammals. Its teeth, could reach over 7 inches (18 cm) in length, The Megalodon is thought to have gone extinct around 3.6 million years ago, possibly due to changes in the marine environment and competition with other predators. I find the teeth that I sell SCUBA diving along the East Coast of the US in 40 to over 100 feet of water.
