Massive Collector Quality Megalodon Shark Tooth

This is a massive Collector Quality Megalodon tooth that I found diving recently. It measures over 5-1/2″ long and almost 4″ wide. It was in 100 feet of water 40 miles off of Wilmington NC. The root and enamel are in great condition. The serrations are worn but still sharp. This is a massive Megalodon tooth at a great price. Includes display stand, certificate of authenticity.

The Megalodon was the largest and most powerful predator ever to have lived in the ocean. This prehistoric shark could have grown to about 60 feet (18 meters) in length and had a bite force that far exceeded that of any known animal, including the Tyrannosaurus rex. The Megalodon’s diet likely consisted of whales, dolphins, seals, and other large marine mammals. Its teeth, could reach over 7 inches (18 cm) in length, The Megalodon is thought to have gone extinct around 3.6 million years ago, possibly due to changes in the marine environment and competition with other predators. I find the teeth that I sell SCUBA diving along the East Coast of the US in 40 to over 100 feet of water.
